Oooh I am full as a goog....and a silly noggin to boot! What a day to have flat batteries in my camera. Went to a big chinese style wedding party tonight (look here for photos of the last one), all the food is pretty much the same at these dos ...7 courses of utter delightfulness and not any part of a pig or cow to be seen! I could eat every morsel! And that's not even the best part... there was a ladyboy show! 4 fabulous dancing divas...and no camera! Always the way...
At any Thai party, the entertainment is usually just karaoke, but the bigger parties will have magicians or manora dancing or as I found out this evening...dancing ladyboys! It all got a bit hip swivelingly provocative in some of the fast beat songs but mostly they just stuck to typical Thai music video maneuvers, swirling, side together step and pirouettes. I quite love how they have no inhibitions...that they can be so completely over the top but just exude how much fun they are having with a big f* you to all who don't appreciate their talent. They were so into their dance routines that all the little kids who inevitably get on stage to dance to the karaoke were almost bowled off the stage by their sweeping arm movements and swashbuckling leg kicks! Most entertaining...what a fabulous evening all round!

Indeed the katoeis tend to be quite uninhibited, don't they... :)
I love the Ladyboy shows....they are amazing. The first time I went to one was when I was living in Manchester in England and they were touring. Chris took one look at them and said 'Bloody hell - if that's what the men look like can you imagine how amazing the women are. I'm moving to Thailand'. That comment has since come back to haunt him.....
