I made something yummy!

I made yoghurt today! Well, I actually made it 2 days ago but it had to sit in the heat for a day and a half and then refrigerate, but I got to eat it today and it's sooo gooooood!

I have to say, I really miss yoghurt. Don't get me wrong, they do sell it here, it's just that if you're buying it every day in the single serve cups it really adds up and we're on quite a budget living here and they don't sell 1 litre tubs in my whole province! Also they all seem to load the sugar in them which is a huge turn off.

In Oz, I would have yoghurt and muslie every day for breakfast..it's my thing...whack fruit on top and I'm in breaky heaven. That and real orange juice are the only food stuffs that I really miss (and good quality dark chocolate when I'm pmsing but that's another story). So, I'm pretty excited to discover that I can make a litre of yoghurt just by pouring milk into this container, mixing a spoonful of other yoghurt into it (for the culture), wrapping it up and putting it upstairs in the heat for a day and a bit! This time I did add a half spoonful of sugar into the mix as I read it helps to make it thicker and by golly they (whoever those blessed souls were) were right! Divinity expressed in milk. LOVE. IT.

What's it like living in the south then?

Where I live is awesome, friendly people, gorgeous surrounds...don't imagine I could ever get bored of seeing the view here! Just miss my friends but life's a balance.

We're about 90 ks from the violence in the south but it's like a different world..it really is so localised to those few provinces.

Never been tempted to go down there and see what's up? I'm thinking of planning a trip some time next year.

It's not very high on my agenda no! Where are you planning to go? All 3 provinces? My husband freaks out at the thought of going anywhere near there! I want to go down to eastern Malaysia thru' the border of Narathiwat but he won't even pass through it on the train!! Fear campaigns working obviously...
