Urghh. I woke up in the night to go to the bathroom, as you do, and my mother-in-law's teeth were floating in a glass on the kitchen table. Not just any glass mind you....MY glass....the only glass I ever use to drink anything out of (yes, it's very special), she is using as her teeth bath at night. I'm pretty traumatised...not by the teeth, that's a natural part of growing old or having bad teeth, it's the fact that it's MY glass, and she knows it.....I have to turn to Buddha in times such as these..."the principle cause of suffering is attachment" Dang right ! If I wasn't attached to that glass, I wouldn't be suffering from nausea this morning thinking that I potentially drank bits of gunk stuck between her teeth...
Anyhoo.....releasing all attachment noooowwww with the out breath....

In your glass.....eeeuuuuuwwww.
I have just spent a very long time reading your blog and laughing myself silly!!
I've been in Thailand for a year now and I've not been able to bring myself to try Durian (It's the smell.....) but having read your post I think I will be brave and give it a go (But I want you to know that if I vomit on the head of a small Thai person I will definately be blaming you!!)

Oh and I just wanted to add.....
I am so pleased that it's not just me that brings home random bits of wood. I have a piece of wood that has travelled with me from Scotland to England to Thailand and I love it. (My husband thinks I am insane)

Hey Carol
Thanks for the post! You so have to let me know your experience with the durian! It's classic watching people eat it the first time..you should take a photo of your facial expression as you bite into it!
My husband was so embarrassed when we were on the bike bringing the wood home..the whole "not wanting the neighbours to know your wife's insane" thing!
